Herting Louise A. Herting, 72, of Gre- sham, Ore., died Monday, Sept. 18, at the University of Oregon, Port- land. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sat- urday, Sept. 23, at St. Paul’s Loon Lake Lutheran Church in Vergas, with the Rev. Ellsworth Wippich officiating. Burial will be in Lake- view Cemetery in Pelican Rapids. She was born Oct. 14, 1916 in Vergas, the daughter of Emil and Amelia Dey. She married Bernard Herting Oct. 10, 1937, in Vergas. The couple then farmed in the Peli- can Rapids area. She is survived by two daugh- ters, Mrs. Dale (Joyce) Ishaug of Redmond, Ore., and Mrs. James (Carolyn) Markle of Troutdale, Ore.; two sons, Maynard of Cres- well, Ore., and Vernon of Andover; two brothers, William Dey of Ver- gas and Benjamin Dey of Sacre- mento, Caif.; 15 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grand- children; and five step-great-grand- children.
