Elizabeth /Wickware/ Elizabeth Wickwire (23 Mar 1688-1732+) married 9 September 1709 Jonas Hamilton or Hambleton (1679-c1750) in New London. He was born in New London, son of David and Hannah (Jackson) Hamilton. David Hamilton was killed by Indians 28 September 1691 in Berwick, Maine. Jonas witnessed his brother-in-law, Christopher Wickware's, will in 1747 and became the guardian of Christopher's two youngest children, Zebediah and Bridget. Jonas and Elizabeth were baptized at the New London Church in 1710. They lived in New London beyond 1738, when Jonas joined the New London Church. They were reported in Colchester, 1747, and in Salem, 1748. The 1790 Connecticut census reports likely grandchildren in New London County. |
