Jonathan /Wickwire/ Jonathan /Wickwire/ Jonathan may have had a son named Christopher. A Christopher Wickwire was a private 3 Nov 1759 in Captain John Durkee's Company recruited chiefly at Norwich. He was also in the service in 1755-7. According to Arthur Manley Wickwire's book he probably died in 1744, as indicated by the following probate record at New London, under a date of February 14, 1744-45,viz: " Lebeus Wickwire, a minor son to Jon Wickwire, late of New London, dec'd, being upwards of 14 years of age makes his choice of his brother Alpheus Wickwire to be his guardian." Jonathan Wickwire (19 Feb 1691-1744) begins the second major line of descent from John and Mary. He married 1717 Elizabeth Haughton, sister of Abigail, who married Jonathan's brother, John Wickware (#3, supra). Jonathan and Elizabeth had six children. |
