Annie /Poole/ The Poole family was an important family of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Prior to 1500 Sir Walter de la Poole and Elizabeth, his wife, were seized of a manor in Horton, a few miles from Wickwar. In 1632 George lord Berkeley sold the manor of Worthley, in Wotton-Under-Edge, to Richard Poole, gent. In 1639 Richard Poole was chosen mayor of Wotton-Under-Edge, but refused to serve. |
