Jonathan /Wickwire/ --purchased lot 31 on 9 Dec 1770 (8th lot purchased) from Abraham Jacob Lansingh. 288 lots were laid out May-June 1771, each 120' x 50'. AJ Weiss, History of Lansingburgh, NY 7n1, 30-32 (1877). --cf Hist of RensCo, p376 Jonathan Wickwire (1 Nov 1725-1771+) was at Bennington, Vermont in 1767, when first cousin Joseph Wickware and he signed a land treaty with Wappinger Indians. In 1770, Jonathan owned land in Lansingburgh, New York. One known child: Philip Wickware (22 Apr 1751-). |
