Last updated July 14, 2014| Charles Benson Brown (IRN128) related that Edward had a boat factory either in Detroit Lakes, MN or on his farm 2 miles west of Dunvilla, MN. He built wooden boats, and Charles' first boat when he built his summer cottage on Lake Lida was a Herting wooden row boat. Charles remembers doing catapiller tractor work on the Herting farm after WWII. |
