Pearl Agusta /Herting/ BIO:Four children died in infancy. Lorraine Elizebeth born Nov 1, l922, she passed away suddenly on April 2, l923 from lung congestion. Otho, Jr. was born prematurely on Nov 8, l923 and lived less than one month. He died on Nov 29, l923 on Thanksgiving day. Marilyn June was prematurely born on June 3, l927 and passed away on July 3, l927. Phyllis Irene was prematurely born on Sept 26, l929 and passed away on Oct 23, l929. The following was transcribed from the hand written notes of Pearl A. Herting Brown (dated 1962): Otho Roy Brown & Pearl Augusta Herting were united in marriage on Nov. 26 th, 1921 o moved to his 80 acre farm in Lida township. The [sic] are the parents of seven children, Namely Lorraine Elizabeth born Nov 1st 1922. she passed away suddenly on April 3, 1923 from lung congestion. Otho Jr. was born prematurly on Nov. 8th 1923 and lived less than one month. He died Nov. 29ty 1923 on thanksgiving day. In 1925 Charles Benson Brown was born on May 4th. He grew to manhood on the home farm. Staduated from high school in Pelican Rapids, then served his country in the Navy until 1945 He then returned to college and got his Masters Degree to teach Math & Science. He is now (1962) teaching in Puerto Rico. He was married to Maxine Stella Johnson on July 23rd 1949. They have w boys, Douglas Charles 12 years born June 28th 1950 and David Otho born July 28th, 1959. 1927 Marilyn June was prematurely born on June 3rd & passed away July 3rd 1927. Year 1929 Phullis Irene was prematurely born on Sept 26th and passed away on Oct 23rd 1929 year 1934 Virginia Pearl was born on Oct 11th and grew up on the farm. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School & attended w yrs of business at Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. She was married to Duane Richardson on Sept. 11th 1954. They have three children, namely Royce Russel born Sept 1st 1955 René Raye born Aug 20th 1956 Reed Roman born Oct 26th 1959 year 1941 Jeanette Wyllis was born on Feb 20th She also grew up on the farm. She attended 3 yrs of High School in Pelican Rapids and Attended one year at Morningside High in Edina where she graduated. Following graduation she enlisted in the Service of the country as a WAF A/3 class on Sept 10th 1960 she was married to Gerald C. Mullins They have one daughter Kimberly Sue born March 26th 1961 Otho & Pearl sold their faarm in Lida township the spring of 1960 as they bought a home in Pelican Rapids the fall of 1959 and moved Sept 1st. |
