Great Grandson of Josef Starman Frantisek and Yvone Starman immigrated to the USA via a two year stay in Switzerland. They moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho as this is where their sponsor lived. Their oldest child was born in Czech And the younger child was born in Switzerland. Frank is a computer programer And Yvone works for a drafting co. They talk about the communist life style in Czech. Money is very important and very hard to get, so they will try very hard to make a few dollars to improve their life style. He feels it will get worse in the years ahead and that their will only be enough to eat and no money for any thing else. The government requires each visitor to change so much money for the day while they are there. If you feel you won't need that much it still has to be changed over, as they like the dollar and if you have any left when your visit is over it is hard to get it changed back. He feels the Starman name is a German name and his feels back in the early 1600's they immigrated to Czech from Germany. There has been a family farm for many generations, he thought seven. The oldest son would; stay on the farm. The farm buildings burned a few years ago. There was a time all the German people were sent back to Germany, but he felt they had been there long enough that they could stay. He can find no record of the family moving to Czech, but feels this must have been the way it was. |
